High Surf Advisory Issued for Multiple Hawaiian Islands

A high surf advisory is in effect from 6 am Sunday until 6 am Monday for north- and west-facing shores of Kaua´i and Ni´ihau.

Large breaking waves of 14 to 18 feet are expected along north-facing shores and 8 to 12 feet along west-facing shores.

Expect strong breaking waves, shore break, and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous.

Beachgoers, swimmers and surfers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials and exercise caution.
