A water service shutdown is scheduled on Alawai Road in Waimea today, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; weather permitting, for hydrant replacement work.

Additionally, a road closure will be in place on Alawai Road with access to local traffic only, in order to create a safe work zone for crews.

To prepare for the water service shutdown, customers are advised to take the following steps:

  • Store enough water to meet your needs until water service can be restored.
  • Notify neighbors, family and friends that may be affected by the service shutdown.
  • Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heaters do not empty during the outage.
