Water service in an area of Hanapēpē is shut down for urgent waterline repairs today, Oct. 14.

Repairs will take place on Iona and Pepe Roads all day, ending at 3:30 p.m., weather permitting.

Customers located in the affected service area are advised to prepare for the service shutdown by taking the following steps:

  • Store water to meet your needs until water service can be restored.
  • Notify neighbors, family and friends of the service shutdown.
  • Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heater does not empty during the shutdown.

The DOW will provide a water buffalo for essential water needs during the emergency water service shutdown. The water buffalo will be located along the entrance of Iona Road. Customers will need to bring their own water containers.
