10 New Cases Confirmed on Kauaʻi

The Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported 10 new cases on Saturday, Oct. 9.

Today’s cases are all residents. Of the 10 new cases, four are children and six are adults. One of the cases is related to interisland travel. The remaining nine cases are considered community-acquired. Five of the community-acquired infections are close contacts of a previously announced case or are tied to one of our active clusters. The remaining four community-acquired cases have no known source of infection, including one whom investigators have been unable to reach after repeated attempts or who has refused to provide information.

Today’s cases bring the number of active cases to 114, with four hospitalized, and 2,480 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s cumulative case count includes 2,421 confirmed locally, eight probable, and 51 positive cases diagnosed elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on island.
