County to Hold Special Election for New Prosecuting Attorney

A special election will be held for the Office of Prosecuting Attorney.

Candidate filing will be offered at the Elections Division beginning on Monday, Oct. 4, 2021. The candidate filing period will run until Oct. 15. Services are offered Monday through Friday during regular office hours of 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nomination and filing services for this Special Election are only for the office of Prosecuting Attorney.

The Special Primary Election will be held on Dec. 18, 2021, and, if necessary, a Special General Election will be held on Feb. 28, 2022.

Prospective candidates for Prosecuting Attorney are encouraged to visit the Elections Division’s webpage at https://www.kauai.gov/Elections for additional information and to obtain an Application for Nomination Papers, which can be completed prior to appearing at the Elections Division to begin the candidate filing process.

Official election information will only be disseminated directly through the Elections Division of Office of the County Clerk, the State Office of Elections, or via the Public Information Officer of the County of Kaua‘i.
