Lifeguards rescued a 47-year-old California woman from waters off Po‘ipū Beach on Monday morning.

At around 11 a.m., lifeguards from the Nukumoi tower spotted a female snorkeler in distress off waters near Po‘ipū Beach Park. Lifeguards brought the woman to shore, where they began chest compressions until she regained consciousness and was breathing independently.

Shortly after, Kōloa firefighters arrived on scene to provide further assistance.

American Medical Response personnel continued advanced life support while transporting the woman to a local hospital for further treatment. The snorkeler is in stable condition.
