Shark Sighting Reported at Hā‘ena Beach Park

Ocean Safety Bureau officials advise no swimming at Hā‘ena Beach Park until further notice due to a shark sighting.

OSB officials report that a possible 6-to-8 foot tiger shark was sighted near the lifeguard tower on Tuesday afternoon. As a safety precaution, Ocean Safety officials have posted warning signs and are monitoring the area.

Lifeguards will reassess the area on Wednesday, Sept. 8.
