DOH Reports Over 1K New COVID-19 Cases Statewide

The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 1,035 new COVID-19 cases Friday, bringing the statewide total to 59,613. Nine new COVID-related deaths were reported.

The state’s two-week average is now 727 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 8.4%. A map documenting new cases by district across all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 41,934
Maui: 7,031
Hawai‘i: 7,100
Kaua‘i: 1,157
Moloka‘i: 158
Lana‘i: 129
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 2,104

A total of 3,359 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 582 have died.

To date, a total of 1,848,431 doses of the vaccine have been administered statewide, with 62.6% of the population fully vaccinated at 70.9% who have received at least one shot.
