Flood Advisory

The National Weather Service High Surf Advisory for east facing shores of Hawaii Island continues through Monday morning.

A High Surf Advisory means surf will be higher than normal, shore break, and dangerous currents could cause injury or death.  Surf of 6 to 10 feet is expected with the most danger Sunday afternoon when the tide is the highest.

The National Weather Service Flash Flood Watch continues through Monday.  A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions are favorable for flash flooding.  Flash flooding is life threatening.  Do not cross fast flowing water, turn around don’t drown.

Due to these Hazards the following are issued:

  •     There are no closures at this time but be aware that beach and road closures may occur at any time.
  •     If lightning threatens your area the safest place to be is indoors.
