Seven New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Kauaʻi Schools

The Hawai‘i State Department of Education (HIDOE) reports seven new COVID-19 cases within schools at the Kapaʻa-Kauaʻi-Waimea Complex for the week of Aug. 14-19.

HIDOE reported a total of 383 confirmed staff and student cases statewide. For 276 of the confirmed cases, officials say the infected individual was not on campus during the infectious period.

Ninety student cases and 17 staff cases were on a campus while infectious during the reporting week.

The weekly report, normally released on Fridays, was put out Thursday, Aug. 19, as Friday is Statehood Day. Click here for a more detailed report at school complexes statewide.
