DOH Reports 539 New Cases as Delta Variant Surges on

The Hawaiʻi Department Health reported 539 new COVID-19 cases as Monday, bringing the statewide total to 51,739. No new COVID-related deaths were reported.

The state’s two-week average is now 652 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 7.5%. A map documenting new cases by district across all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 36,892
Maui: 6,066
Hawai‘i: 5,669
Kaua‘i: 853
Lana‘i: 119
Moloka‘i: 128
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 2,012

A total of 3,034 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 552 have died.

To date, a total of 1,804,695 doses of the vaccine have been administered statewide, with 61.3% of the population fully vaccinated at 69% who have received at least one shot.
