HIDOE Reports Increase in COVID Cases as Students Return to Classrooms Statewide

An increase in COVID-19 cases was reported in public schools across all Hawaiʻi Department of Educationʻs complexes statewide including on Kauaʻi.

With the first week of the 2021-22 school year now completed, HIDOE reported 325 confirmed cases between Aug. 7-13 throughout the state. This is the first time since the pandemic erupted in March 2020 that schools have returned to fulltime in-person instruction.
