The Department of Public Works announced Monday that a portion Kaneka Steet in Līhu‘e will be closed through Aug. 26 to allow Maui Kupono Builders to conduct road resurfacing work from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather permitting.

Through Aug. 26 on weekdays, there will be lane closures along the entire length of Kaneka Street from the roundabout to Puhi Road. The remaining open lanes will accommodate alternating traffic in both directions. Flaggers will be positioned to assist motorists during these closures.

The public is advised to make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary road closures, use alternate routes, and allow extra time to get to destinations. During this time, no parking will be allowed in the work zones.

Anyone with questions may contact Maui Kupono Builders at 808-369-1800 or the County of Kaua‘i Roads Division at 241-4847.
