Lane closure scheduled for portions of Līhu‘e

Portions of Līhu‘e will be closed July 28 to Aug. 12 to allow Maui Kupono Builders to conduct road resurfacing work from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather permitting.

Road work is scheduled along Kaneka Street and within portions of the Kaneka-Nuhou roundabout.

On July 28-29, Nuhou Street will be closed from Ulu Maika Street to the roundabout. One-way traffic will flow Puhi-bound only on Nuhou Street, from Kaumuali’i Highway to the roundabout, and the entire length of Kaneka Street.

From July 30 to Aug. 12, on weekdays, single-lane closures along the entire length of Kaneka Street from the roundabout to Puhi Road. The remaining open lanes will accommodate alternating traffic in both directions.

One lane of alternating traffic will be maintained. Flaggers will be positioned to assist motorists during these closures.
