Scrap metal is not being accepted at the Hanalei Refuse Transfer Station for the next few days due to improvements being made at the facility.

The area is expected to reopen on Saturday, July 17. North Shore residents are asked to take their scrap metal to the Kapa‘a refuse transfer station until the area is clear for use again.

No other activities are affected at this time, but residents are advised to be aware that heavy machinery and large vehicles will be entering and exiting the site and to use caution when dropping off other material.

For questions or concerns, send an email to solidwaste@kauai.gov or call 808-241-4841.
