Lane closures Scheduled fo multiple sections on Kōloa, Maluhia Roads
Multiple sections of Kōloa and Maluhia Roads are scheduled for lane closures from June 21-25.
The sections of road will be under short lane closures for inspection and punch list completion work from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should expect brief occasional delays at the Kōloa Road-Ala Kalanikaumaka intersection for the continued construction and paving of the northside of the roundabout.
Additionally, from June 21-22, Kōloa Road will be under full closure from Po‘ipū Road to Ala Kalanikaumaka. The hours of operation for the full closure will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists will be detoured to Lopaka Paipa Blvd. during this closure.
As a reminder, Ōma‘o Road is a narrow residential road that is not intended to be used as a detour route and not designed for high volumes of traffic or truck traffic. The speed limit is 25 mph for the entire length of Ōma‘o Road. Through trucks are prohibited on Ōma‘o Road for the duration of this project. Eastbound motorists from the West Side, Kalāheo, or Lāwa‘i are recommended to take Kaumuali‘i Highway to Maluhia Road to access Kōloa and Po‘ipū.
Construction of the Kōloa Road Roundabout is currently projected to be complete by July 23, 2021. The completion of the project is expected to be complete by Aug. 27, 2021. Dates and times are subject to change depending on weather and other factors.
