Three New COVID-Related Deaths Reported

The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 73 new cases of coronavirus Sunday. The statewide total is now 36,616. Three new COVID-related deaths were reported.

No new cases of the virus were identified on Kaua‘i Sunday, where the Hawai‘i Community Correctional Center continues to address an outbreak at its facility. The state’s two-week average is 49 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of .9%.

A DOH map that tracks cases by district across all islands can be accessed on the department’s website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

A total of 2,360 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 505 have died.

Approximately 1.5 million vaccine doses have been administered statewide.
