2 Hikers Rescued on Kalalau Trail

Two hikers were rescued on the Kalalau Trail on Friday, June 4.

First responders received a report of two hikers in distress in the vicinity of Hanakoa Valley on the Kalalau Trail on Friday at approximately 4 p.m.

Rescue 3 aboard Air 1 arrived at a landing zone near Hanakoa Valley at 4:40 p.m. and found two hikers, one with a possible wrist injury, and the other with a possible knee injury.

The party was transported to Princeville Airport and was met by Engine 1 and American Medical Response. After receiving medical assessments by AMR personnel, the hikers declined further medical treatment.

The scene was cleared at 5:25 p.m.
