Half of Kaua‘i Residents Fully Vaccinated Against COVID

More than half of Kaua‘i residents are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, Mayor Derek SK Kawakami announced during the county’s bi-weekly COVID update Thursday, June 3.

Currently, 51% of people are vaccinated and 58% have received one shot of the vaccine. On June 3, Kaua‘i reported no new cases.

The Garden Island currently has one active case, two people are in quarantine and no one is hospitalized. Kaua‘i has a cumulative case count of 363.

“Last week, Gov. Ige lifted the requirement to wear masks outdoors,” Kawakami stated. “Masks are still required indoors and recommended for large crowded outdoor gatherings.”
