Statewide COVID Cases Drop Below 50 Wednesday

The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 47 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday. The statewide total is now 33,376. One new COVID-related death was also reported.

The state’s two-week average is 78 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate with 1.4%. A DOH map that tracks cases by district across all islands can be accessed on the department’s website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 25,544
Maui: 3,520
Hawai‘i: 2,743
Kaua‘i: 304
Lana‘i: 112
Moloka‘i: 37
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 1,116

A total of 2,194 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 489 have died.
