Kōloa Road, Maluhia Road Scheduled Closures
The Department of Public Works and Goodfellow Bros. LLC., are announcing that multiple sections of Kōloa Road and Maluhia Road are scheduled for lane closures from May 10 to May 14.
Multiple sections of Kōloa Road will be under a single-lane closure for shoulder construction, pavement work and striping operations from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Additionally, portions of Maluhia Road will also be under short-lane closures for inspection and punch list completion work from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
As a reminder, Ōma‘o Road is a narrow residential road that is not intended to be used as a detour route and not designed for high volumes of traffic or truck traffic. The speed limit is 25 mph for the entire length of Ōma‘o Road. Through trucks are prohibited on Ōma‘o Road for the duration of this project. Eastbound motorists from the West Side, Kalāheo, or Lāwa‘i are recommended to take Kaumuali‘i Highway to Maluhia Road to access Kōloa and Po‘ipū.
Construction of the Koloa Road Roundabout is currently projected to be complete by June 18, 2021. The current projected project final completion date is July 30, 2021.
