COVID Cases Double Overnight to 128 Thursday

The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 128 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday. The statewide total is now 32,922. One new COVID-related death was also reported.

Four new cases were reported on Kaua´i Thursday, per DOH statistics. The state’s two-week average is 94 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.7%. A DOH map that tracks cases by district across all islands can be accessed on the department’s website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 25,225
Maui: 3,461
Hawai‘i: 2,721
Kaua‘i: 287
Lana‘i: 111
Moloka‘i: 37
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 1,080

A total of 2,173 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 486 have died.

To date, a total of 1,266,849 doses of vaccine have been administered.
