Ocean Safety officials announce that online registration for the 2021 Keiki and Junior Lifeguard programs will begin on May 3, 2021. Enrollment is limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The programs are free and will be on a scaled-down model, with more classroom teaching, live rescue demonstrations and social distancing during physical fitness exercises.

The Keiki Lifeguard Program is available to children ages 8 to 11 who can swim and run 50 yards nonstop. The Junior Lifeguard Program is open to youth ages 12 to 17 who can swim and run 100 yards nonstop.

Masks and social distancing will be required.
