The Blood Bank of Hawai‘i will host its monthly neighbor-island drive on Kaua‘i from April 20-22.
The three-day blood drive will take place at the Kaua‘i Beach Resort Jasmine I and II ballrooms, with hours of operations varying by day.
“This will be our third time returning to Kaua‘i since the (COVID-19) pandemic began, and we’re grateful to our donors and the Kaua‘i Beach Resort for contributing to the health of our community,” said Todd Lewis, Chief Operating Officer of Blood Bank of Hawai‘i.
The resort offered to waive ballroom rental fees for the duration of the drive, and Blood Bank of Hawai‘i staff will benefit from the convenient on-site room accommodations.
“I am truly excited to welcome back Blood Bank of Hawai‘i,” said Robert “Mick” Minicola, General Manager of Kauai Beach Resort. “Donating blood to help our community during times of need is an act of kindness and generosity that we can all support. Please assist us in saving the lives of our Hawai‘i families and strangers in the true spirit of Aloha.”
Blood Bank of Hawai‘i continues to prioritize the safety of its staff, donors and the community. Strict sanitation protocols and safety procedures recommended by the FDA, CDC and HDOH will be implemented. Blood Bank of Hawaii hopes to secure 180 appointments per day consisting of all blood types.
Each donation can save up to three lives. Healthy donors interested in giving blood or plasma on Kaua‘i may register at bbh.org or call 808-848-4770. As a reminder, an appointment is required as walk-ins can no longer be accommodated. Drive dates and times are subject to change.
Individuals with questions about operations during COVID-19 may visit bbh.org/COVID-19 or connect via social media at @BloodBankHawaii.
