Multiple sections of Kōloa Road Scheduled for Lane Closures
Multiple sections of Kōloa Road are scheduled for lane closures from April 12 to April 16.
The construction of the Kōloa Road roundabout is currently projected to be complete by May 25, 2021, while the projected project final completion date is by July 13, 2021.
Multiple sections of Kōloa Road will be under a single-lane closure for shoulder construction, pavement work and striping operations from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastbound motorists from the West Side, Kalāheo, or Lāwa‘i are recommended to take Kaumuali‘i Highway to Maluhia Road to access Kōloa and Po‘ipū.
Additionally, from April 12 to April 13, Koloa Road will be under full closure from Poipu Road to Ala Kalanikaumaka. The hours of operation for the full closure will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists will be detoured to Lopaka Paipa Blvd. during this closure.
As a reminder, Ōma‘o Road is a narrow residential road that is not intended to be used as a detour route and not designed for high volumes of traffic or truck traffic. The speed limit is 25 mph for the entire length of Ōma‘o Road. Through trucks are prohibited on Ōma‘o Road for the duration of this project.
