Hanalei Post Office Closed Due to Weather-Related Road Closures
The Hanalei Post Office, located at 5-5226 Kūhiō Highway on the north shore of Kaua‘i, is temporarily closed due to weather-related road closures.
The office will reopen as soon as access is restored and it is safe to do so.
“We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this temporary closure” said USPS Manager of Post Office Operations Gary Logan, who oversees all neighbor island postal operations.
The Hanalei Post Office provides retail services from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays and PO Box mail delivery to about 1,300 customers. It does not provide street mail delivery.
While this office is closed, affected Hanalei PO Box customers can pick up their mail at the Kīlauea Post Office, located at 2585 Ala Namahana Parkway.
The Kīlauea Post Office is open the same hours as the Hanalei Post Office, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
The Postal Service does not receive tax dollars for operating expenses; it relies entirely on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
