A flash flood warning is canceled, however a flash flood watch remains in effect until 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18.

Heavy showers and thunderstorms have moved offshore and stream levels are dropping. Kaua‘i Emergency Management reports that Kūhiō Highway remains closed at the Hanalei Bridge, though flood waters are receding.

A brown water advisory has also been issued for the Garden Island. Heavy rain has resulted in stormwater runoff entering into coastal waters. The public is advised to stay out of flood waters and storm water runoff due to possible overflowing cesspools, sewer, manholes, pesticides, animal fecal matter, dead animals, pathogens, chemicals, and associated flood debris.

Not all coastal areas may be impacted by runoff, however, if the water is brown stay out.
