High Surf Warning Issued for Tuesday and Wednesday

A high surf advisory is in effect for the island of Kauai from noon tomorrow until 6 am Wednesday, according to a forecast from the National Weather Service in Honolulu.

Surf of 12 to 16 feet ie expected along north-facing shores of Kauai and Niihau, while surf 8 to 12 feet is likely to be produced along west-facing shores.

Impacts are forecast to be moderate. Expect strong breaking waves, shore break, and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming
difficult and dangerous. Beachgoers, swimmers, and surfers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials and exercise caution.
