Hanalei Structure Damaged in Blaze
No injuries were reported after a structure fire in Hanalei Monday morning.
Kaua‘i Fire Department responded to the blaze at approximately 3 a.m. They arrived on scene at approximately 3:10 a.m. Once on scene, fire personnel discovered the structure fully engulfed with smoke and flames.
The fire was quickly knocked down. The structure was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
After assessing the incident, crews cleared the scene at approximately 4:40 a.m. Fire inspectors estimate the damage to the structure and its contents to be roughly $11,000.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Firefighters from the Hanalei and Kaiakea fire stations, the on-duty Battalion Chief, and the Prevention Bureau responded to the fire.
