Flood Advisory in Effect Until 2 p.m.

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a Flood Advisory for the island of Kaua‘i in Kaua‘i County until 2 p.m. HST.
At 10:55 a.m. HST, radar indicated heavy rain moving into the eastern half of Kaua‘i. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 3 inches per hour.
Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to: Līhu‘e, Kapa‘a, Kalaheo, Princeville, Kīlauea, Hanalei, Wainiha, Wailua, Haena, Koloa, Na Pali State Park, Moloa‘a, Anahola, and Poipu.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding.
Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.
Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on foot. Turn around, don’t drown.
A Flash Flood Watch is also in effect for Kauai. This advisory may need to be extended beyond 2 p.m. if flooding persists.
