Debris removal along the Lydgate Beach Park corridor is scheduled to begin Jan. 4.

Work for the project will be along the ocean side of Wailua Bridge and Hilton Garden Inn Kaua‘i Wailua Bay Hotel, and the southern portion of Morgan Ponds.

“The purpose of this project is to maintain public health and safety by removing storm-related vegetative debris as a result of the heavy flooding that occurred on March 27 and 28 along the Lydgate Beach corridor,” said the Director of Department of Parks and Recreation Patrick T. Porter.

Cushnie Construction is the contractor for the $385,900 project, which is expected to be complete by April 3, 2021. During the debris-removal period, the north parking lot of Lydgate Beach Park will be closed.
