Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami signed the fifth supplementary emergency proclamation extending the disaster relief period for the COVID-19 crisis for at least another 60 days.

The proclamation allows the county to take immediate action to mitigate the potential impacts of COVID-19. It allows the County to be proactive in establishing a plan for officials to mobilize resources if and when needed. Kawakami’s proclamation was issued in coordination with the Governor’s Office and fellow counties.

The disaster emergency relief period shall continue until terminated 60 days after Oct. 23, 2020, or by a separate proclamation – whichever comes first.
