1 Person Displaced After Structure Fire in Kapa‘a

An early-morning structure fire left one person displaced, officials reported this morning.

Kaua‘i Fire Department responded the one-story residence in Kapa‘a on Wailua Road at approximately 12:55 a.m. Upon arrival, fire personnel discovered smoke exiting the windows of the building.

The resident was home when KFD arrived. The origin of the fire is believed to be in the kitchen area. Fire personnel established a water supply via a fire hydrant and proceeded to extinguish the fire.

No Injuries were reported. However, volunteers with the America Red Cross assisted the displaced individual.

Firefighters cleared the scene at approximately 2:20 a.m. Damages are estimated at $75,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
