Kaua‘i Firefighters Douse Two Brush Fires

Kaua‘i firefighters extinguished two brush fires that broke out in Anahola on Friday evening. No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened.

At approximately 7:20 p.m. on Friday, personnel from the Kaiākea and Kapa‘a fire stations, Rescue 3, Air 1, the Kaua‘i Police Department, and the on-duty Battalion Chief were dispatched to two brush fires east of the Anahola solar farms near Kūhiō Highway. Crews cleared the scene at approximately 7:40 p.m. 

KPD closed Kūhiō Highway near the vicinity of the Anahola solar farms for approximately 30 minutes. The cause of the two fires that burned two acres is not yet known and remains under investigation.
