Mayor Derek S. K. Kawakami has signed the third supplementary emergency proclamation on Sept. 21, for the County of Kaua‘i as a result from severe storms and flooding during a rain event on March 27-28, 2020.

The third supplementary emergency proclamation further declares the provisions of the previous emergency proclamations. The disaster emergency relief period shall now continue until terminated 60 days after Sept. 21, or by a separate proclamation – whichever comes first.

The purpose of the emergency proclamation is to provide continued relief for disaster damages, losses, and suffering, and to protect the health, safety, and welfare of Kaua‘i residents and visitors.
