One new positive case of COVID-19 reported on Kaua‘i
A new COVID-19 case reported on Kaua‘i brings the total of active cases to two with a cumulative total of 49.
The new case is an adult resident who is a household contact of the case reported on Sunday. Both cases are related to inter-island travel and are in isolation. Neither case is hospitalized. Contacts of the two cases have been notified, quarantined and offered a test.
As a reminder, effective Aug. 11, all incoming passengers arriving to the Līhu‘e Airport will be subject to the 14-day mandatory quarantine. This includes all residents and visitors traveling from the mainland and neighbor islands.
There are no exemptions to the mandatory quarantine. However, there are very limited opportunities for a modified quarantine, such as for critical infrastructure employees who must travel for work. To apply for a modified quarantine, please visit the Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency page, www.kauai.gov/COVID-19, and click on the “modified quarantine request” button at the top of the page.
