Kaua‘i Weekly Road Closures: Aug. 8-14

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly road and lane closures for Aug. 8-14. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

HANAPEPE (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) in the eastbound direction between mile markers 16.2 and 16.6, Puna Road and Iona Road, on Tuesday evening, August 11, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., for utility work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

PRINCEVILLE

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) in the northbound direction between mile markers 0.7 and 1.3, Kuhio Highway and Ohiki Road, on Monday, August 10, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., for survey work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KAPA‘A (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction between mile markers 6.7 and 7.1, Aleka Loop and Fernandes Road, on Tuesday evening, August 11, through Friday morning, August 14, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., for utility work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in the northbound direction between mile markers 7.2 and 7.6, Kamoa Road and Hoi Road, on Tuesday evening, August 11, through Friday morning, August 14, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., for utility work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in the northbound direction between mile markers 8.5 and 8.9, Lehua Street and Kou Street, on Tuesday evening, August 11, through Friday morning, August 14, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., for utility work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KAPA‘A (24-HOUR WORK)

Traffic on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) near mile marker 10 is shifted to the temporary Kapaa Stream Bridge 24-hours a day, seven days a week until further notice. For safety during the shift to the temporary bridge, right turns off Kuhio Highway onto Mailihuna Road are not permitted. Access to Kapahi is recommended via the Kawaihau Road or Hauala Road detours.

KĪLAUEA

Single lane and shoulder closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in the eastbound direction between Kalihiwai Road and N. Ko‘olau Road, on Monday, August 10, through Friday, August 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for utility tree trimming and powerline maintenance. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
