Night Work on Kūhiō Highway Slated for Next Week

Night construction work is scheduled to be performed at various locations on Kūhiō Highway in Wailua, Waipouli and Kapaʻa next week to allow the Wastewater Management Division to perform maintenance work on the sewer system.

Traffic will be modified, one area at a time, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Aug. 11-14, weather permitting.

Work will be performed as follows:

·Wailua: The southbound lane of Kūhiō Highway between Fernandes Road and the southern intersection of Aleka Loop will be closed. Southbound traffic will be shifted into the inner northbound lane in the work area.
·Waipouli: The northbound lane of Kūhiō Highway between Kamoa Road and Hoi Road will be closed. Northbound traffic will be shifted into the two-way left turn lane in the work area.
·Kapaʻa: The northbound lane of Kūhiō Highway between Lehua Street and Kou Street will be closed. One-way traffic will be maintained using flaggers.
