Agencies to Reach Out to Homeless Community Regarding Housing

The Kaua‘i County Housing Agency, in partnership with Women in Need and Kaua‘i Economic Opportunity, will be visiting county beach parks next week to provide outreach services to homeless individuals and families currently living in these areas.

The primary goal of this planned outreach will be to connect people with housing assistance programs, including identifying prospective tenants for Kealaula on Pua Loke – the county’s new permanent supportive housing project in Līhu‘e.

Officials will be wearing masks and physical distancing will be observed. Officials are also asking participants to wear a mask covering over their nose and mouth.

The schedule for next week’s outreach is as follows:

·Aug. 3 – ‘Anini Beach Park from 9-11 a.m., and Anahola Beach Park from 1-2:30 p.m.
·Aug. 4 – Lydgate Beach Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
·Aug. 5 – Salt Pond Beach Park from 9-11 a.m., and Lucy Wright Park from 1-2:30 p.m.
