The DLNR Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation (DOBOR) closed the boat ramp loading dock at Kukui‘ula Small Boat Harbor (SBH) for repairs. The facility’s launch ramp remains open, but will close temporarily when construction begins.

The project is expected to start in mid-October and anticipated completion is mid-November. According to DLNR officials, the support beams for the structure delaminated, causing the pier to sag, creating a potentially hazardous situation.

As a result, the old boat ramp loading dock will be demolished and a new one will be installed.
