Hanapēpē Bridge on Hanapēpē Road will be closed as crews install and connect a new waterline starting July 21.

Hanapēpē Bridge on Hanapēpē Road will be closed for waterline work starting Tuesday, July 21, weather permitting. Motorists will be detoured through Hāna Road and Pu‘olo Road during the closure. (PC: Kaua’i County)

The bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic during work hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, except on state and county holidays. Access will be limited to pedestrians and bicyclists only during work hours.

The closure is to allow Goodfellow Bros., LLC and the Kaua‘i Department of Water to install and connect a new 12-inch waterline and service laterals to the DOW’s water system.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes during the bridge closure. A detour route is attached to facilitate vehicular traffic within the area. Vehicles westbound may take routes through Hana Road, while vehicles eastbound may take routes through Pu‘olo Road.
