Anahola Roadwork to Pick Up on July 13

Roadwork in Anahola will re-commence on weekdays starting July 13, weather permitting.

DMK and Associates was hired to complete roadwork, which last through July 17. Work during weekday will take place between 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weather permitting.

According to the Department of Public Works, work will be done on Hokualele Road (makai of Kūhiō Highway to end), Kamalomalo‘o Place, and Malama Aina Place. The scope of the work includes asphalt crack cleaning and filling, seal coating, and striping the roadways.

From July 13-14, there will be no closures during the asphalt crack cleaning and filling phase of work. There may be short delays in entering and exiting for residents on the road. No parking will be allowed on the road or road shoulders.

From July 15-17, there will be lane closures during the seal coating phase of work. No parking will be allowed on the road or road shoulders. Vehicle, motorcycle, moped, bicycle or other access on the roadway or grassy shoulders will be allowed.

No vehicle, motorcycle, moped, bicycle will be allowed to enter or exit until the seal coat is dry and the lane reopened. No walking on wet seal coat. The work zone will be coned/barricaded off to prevent anyone from driving or stepping on wet materials.

The striping schedule is still to be determined. There will be no road closures during this phase.

For all phases of work, motorists are advised to exercise caution. See the map above for specific locations and dates of the road closures.

Vehicle parking will not be allowed in the work zone after 7:30 a.m. Any vehicle left on the street or grassy road shoulders within the work zones after this time will be towed at the owner’s expense.
