The County of Kaua‘i announced changes in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Department of Liquor Control in order to provide for the health, safety, and welfare of residents in an effort to stem the spread of COVID-19.

Starting July 1, manager’s testing for Red and Blue Cards will resume. Testing will be available by appointment only. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, class size will be limited to 10 people each session.

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. for the 9 a.m. session and at 1:30 p.m. for the 2 p.m. session. Red and Blue Card exams will be given at the same time.

It is recommended that all applicants download the “Study Guide” and watch the training video that can be found at www.kauai.gov/liquor prior to taking the exam.

Red and Blue Cardholders whose cards expired from March through June 2020 will not need to re-take the exam, however, they will need to call the department to request a new card.

Appointments are made on a first-come-first-served basis. To schedule an appointment or have questions, call 241-4966.
