The Department of Water has scheduled a water service shutdown on a portion of Pai Street in Kalaheo next week.

The water will be turned off on June 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Approximately six customers located on the west-end of Pai Street will be affected. The shutoff will allow crews to connect a new six-inch water line onto the existing system.

This work is weather permitting. DOW will go door-to-door to notify all affected customers.

In preparation for the shutoff, DOW advises customers in the affected area to take the following steps:

  • -Store enough water to meet your needs until water service can be restored.
  • -Notify family, friends and neighbors of the shutdown.
  • -Those with faulty water heaters should ensure their water heaters do not empty during the shutdown.
  • -Monitor water service announcements online at www.facebook.com/KauaiDOW.
