8 New Recruits Join Kaua‘i Police

Kaua‘i Police Department welcomes eight new officers to the force.

Graduates of the 92nd Recruit Class are Cody Chow, Joseph Dill, Kamie Imai, Robert Kerry, Evan Kuribayashi, Clement Nghi, Hiro Shimada and Kelvin Villanueva.

“We know that this team-oriented group will make exemplary officers,” KPD stated on its Facebook page. “They have shown remarkable strength and resilience through, quite literally, one of the most challenging times in history. They persevered throughout their training, despite all of the unusual obstacles thrown in their way and ended up even stronger in the end.

“These upstanding traits, along with their compassion, integrity and dash of lighthearted humor (really, they will make you smile), are the perfect combo for serving and and protecting our community with genuine aloha.”
