Update at 9:20 a.m. April 19: Kaua‘i police report that 16-year-old Akoni Bermoy returned to his family safely the night of April 18. No injuries were reported.

Original post: The Kaua‘i Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a runaway juvenile.

Akoni Bermoy, a 16-year-old resident of Puhi, was reported missing on April 12. He was last seen in the Hanapēpē area.

Bermoy is 5-feet-9-inches tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds. He has a tan complexion, wavy brown hair and is of Filipino decent. 

He is known to frequent the Līhu‘e and Puhi areas.

Anyone with information about Bermoy’s whereabouts is urged to contact KPD Dispatch at 808-241-1711. Those wishing to remain anonymous can provide information by calling Crime Stoppers Kaua‘i at 808-246-8300, submitting a tip at cskauai.org, or through the Crime Stoppers Kaua‘i P3 Tips Mobile App.
