California Visitor Suffers Head Injuries Following Crash on Rented Scooter
A California man was transported to Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu following a single-vehicle crash in Kapa‘a earlier this week that closed the roadway for nearly two hours.
The crash occurred on Monday, July 11 at approximately 4:25 p.m. According to Kaua‘i police, preliminary reports indicate the 21-year-old was traveling along Olohena Road on a rented scooter, lost control and crashed on the roadway.
Olohena Road, between Waipouli Road and Hauiki Road, was closed to traffic for approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes.
The California visitor suffered multiple head injuries. He was initially treated at Wilcox Medical Center and later transferred to Queen’s.
Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this traffic crash.
