Road Work Slated on Po‘ipū Road near Kōloa Elementary School Jan. 3-21
A portion of Po‘ipū Road will be under construction from Jan. 3-21 for the Kōloa Safe Routes to School Project.
Work is scheduled Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no road work occurring during the peak traffic times for school drop-off and pick up, the Department of Public Works and Pacific Concrete Cutting and Coring Inc., announced in a press release Thursday, Dec. 30.
Motorists are advised to expect occasional delays and are reminded that the speed limit is 15 mph near Kōloa Elementary School while school is in session.
The Kōloa Safe Routes to School Project involves improvements to pedestrian access to the school, including new sidewalks, crosswalks, and ADA ramps. Safe walking routes for students, parents, and pedestrians will be provided.
This project is scheduled to be complete in June 2022. Dates and times are subject to change depending on weather and other factors. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Keith Suga at 808-645-0822.
