No injuries following warehouse fire in Kapa‘a, officials say

No injuries were reported following a warehouse fire in Kapa‘a.

Kaua‘i Fire Department responded to the blaze on Apopo Road shortly after 8:45 p.m. on Thursday. When they arrived on scene, firefighters discovered a 20-foot-by-50-foot metal building and its contents on fire.

Crews controlled the flames at approximately 9:40 p.m. and fully extinguished the blaze.

Personnel from the Kaiākea, Kapa‘a, and Līhu‘e fire stations, Rescue 3, Tanker 1, the Fire Prevention Bureau, the Kaua‘i Police Department, and the on-duty Battalion Chief responded to the incident.

After firefighters extinguished the fire, KFD Fire Prevention investigators took over the scene and conducted an investigation.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Firefighters cleared the scene shortly before 11:25 p.m.

Damages to structure and contents are estimated at $350,000.
